Awards Day
Today was the first monthly awards day at Morrilton Primary School. We are so proud of Stephen for getting the Citizenship award for his class as well as receiving an award for Good Behavior in the cafeteria. There were only a few of those given in the whole school. His class also won the cleanest classroom award and the music class award, and they each received a pencil for collecting the most bags in the recycling program. Way to go Stephen!!!!!!

Fair Time
Stephen's class visited the fair Friday to see the exhibits and the animals. They had a good time. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we will get to go to the fair for the rides this year. Both kids will be disappointed but maybe we can make it up to them.

Cousins
Skylar and JD are like two peas in a pod. They truly don't know what to do when they don't see each other for a few days. I am grateful they are close and hope they remain that way for life.

Nature Photography
I had a great revelation today - it is much easier to get inanimate objects to sit still to have their picture taken than it is to get my kids to sit still. This actually gave me a chance to practice with different settings on my camera and even the spider didn't run to me after each click of the shutter wanting to see the resulting picture.
Anyway these are just a few things I found in the back yard today.

A Formal Affair
I bet you didn't realize that watching cartoons required formal attire. Skylar suckered her daddy into buying her this Barbie princess dress yesterday. She insisted on wearing it today to watch tv.

1st Day of School
Well today was the big day. Stephen headed off to first grade. He was up and ready in no time this morning. He couldn't wait to go. He kept asking if it was time to leave yet.
He is so different from me. I was always so nervous going to school for the first few days. There was no way I could eat breakfast. I would have had too many butterflies in my stomach.
He hopped right out at school with no hesitation. He is such a social kid. I can't wait to get home and hear all about the first day.

Stephen C. First Grader
Monday will be the first day of school. Stephen is really excited to be going back. Today he got to meet his new teacher, Mrs. Heidenreich. I am sure this will prove to be another exciting year.

Graduation Day
Stephen graduated from kindergarten this morning. It is kind of bittersweet. I am ready for school to be out but he loved kindergarten so much I hate to see him leave. We had a great experience with all of the teachers and faculty. I just hope that first grad is as good.
