Today I exercised my right to vote (probably the most exercise I have done all year) and by doing so, I reserved my right to complain (assuming the vote doesn't go my way). After all, if you don't bother to vote, you don't get to complain later!
Random thoughts about my life, kids, weight loss, and anything else that comes to mind.

Here We Go Again
If I have said it once, I had said it a hundred times - I am so ready for spring. This is the view outside my bedroom window this morning. March 3 and 2 inches of sleet. I am over winter. Enough already!
If you know me at all, you know my field of work isn't one with lots of days off this time of year. Too much to do and time is always running out. So while most people get to enjoy a snow day at home being lazy, watching movies and drinking hot chocolate, this is what I get to do...
My office away from the office. The commute is short and I get to spend the day with my favorite people (no offense to my co-workers), and it sure beats trying to slip and slide into work, but it would be nice to get to spend the day doing nothing!

Ice Lights
We have had some really wintry weather this year. Seems like every time we turn around the store shelves are empty of bread, milk and toilet paper...all winter weather necessities. Of course this is the time of year that unless absolutely necessary, I don't miss work. That means that when winter weather is in the forecast I do my best to make it to work anyway. Today was no exception. Sleet and freezing rain began to fall as I headed to my job. But thankfully, God was in control and I made it to work with no problems. I have to say my drive home was gorgeous. The trees glistened with ice and I wished I had my camera and was able to get some pictures. Of course by the time I did get home the sun was setting and most of the photo opportunities were gone, but I grabbed the camera anyway and managed to get a couple of shots. If it weren't for the power outages and unsafe driving conditions, I wouldn't mind getting to see the ice once in a while. Unfortunately, many people are without power this evening and there are others with broken trees and limbs in their yards and on their homes.

Shed a Little Light on the Subject
My dear husband can be very creative at times. He recently decided to take the old yard light from his parents' house and convert it to solar and install it in our yard. He cleaned it, painted it, and bought a solar yard light which he disassembled and installed to convert the light to be wireless. Now we have this wonderful light illuminating our back yard. A little old, a little new...and a lot creative!

While I Am Waiting
I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You Lord
And I am hopeful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it is painful, but patiently I will wait
And I am hopeful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it is painful, but patiently I will wait
And I will move ahead bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting I will serve You
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait
I'm waiting, I'm waiting on You Lord
And I am peaceful, I'm waiting on You Lord
And I am peaceful, I'm waiting on You Lord
Though it's not easy no, but faithfully I will wait
Yes, I will wait
And I will move ahead bold and confident
Taking every step in obedience
Taking every step in obedience
While I'm waiting I will serve You
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
I'll be running the race even while I wait
I will move ahead bold and confident
I'll be taking every step in obedience, yeah
I'll be taking every step in obedience, yeah
While I'm waiting I will serve You
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
While I'm waiting I will worship
While I'm waiting I will not faint
And I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting on You Lord
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting
I will serve You while I'm waiting
I will worship while I'm waiting

I have never been good at waiting, but that is where I am right now. In fact that is where my home church is right not...in a state of waiting. We are an impatient people, but we must not get ahead of God's plan, and we can't get discouraged while we wait upon Him. He has a great plan and deserves our worship even when we don't understand why we have to wait.
